Gili Trawangan island is a biggest island of three beautiful island series in western Lombok. This island have land area about 6 kilometers square with 800 resident settle at here. Now, Gili Trawangan become a favorite destination in Indonesia for foreign tourism. Along the beach you can find wonderful white and clean beach, blue sea, fresh air, and 'drawing' of Gunung Agung in Bali.

From Mataram city, we can use the public transport with route Mataram-Rembiga-Pamenang, after that we can continue wit boat from Bangsal Port to Gili Trawangan (crossings time start at 8am-5pm). The distance between Lombok Island and Gili Trawangan about 45 minutes by boat for with cost Rp.10.000. When arriving at there, usually travellers will be offered by agencies various tourism activities like diving, snorkeling, riding the glass-bottomed boat, and so on.
Transport facilities that can be used in Gili Trawangan is rented bikes by locals resident for Rp.20.000/hour. You can also hire cidomo (traditional transport using horse) with rates about Rp.150.000 up to 4 people can be used to surround the island. (this rate is not negotible). The motor vehicle is not permitted fo use in Gili Trawangan or other Gili. It's a local custom rules called awig-awig, so we can sure that the area is free from pollution and keep the air still fresh.
